3.11 Quality Assurance (QA) Support
Under multiple contracts, Wyle has provided responsible QA Support to NAVAIR for more than 35 years. This support has consisted of engineering and technical methodologies to help NAVAIR purchase aircraft, aircraft systems and related products faster, at lower cost, and with less risk. This system of protocols and procedures, such as flight and/or subsystem testing at the right place and/or time using the correct equipment and techniques were implemented to ensure Navy aircraft can operate safely. Wyle also supported fleet activities under the NAVAIR Air Systems Electromagnetic Interference Corrective Action Program (ASEMICAP), in the identification and correction of EMI problems.
As prime contractor under contract N00421-02-C-3018, Engineering and Technical Services for E3, is an example of Wyle’s QA Program. One goal of this program is to ensure that all Navy aircraft can be operated properly and safely. To ensure flight safety on aircraft after new subsystems have been installed, Wyle personnel perform SOF tests. Wyle has directly supported the E3 Program continuously since 1979, performing the full spectrum of E3 Tests including SOF tests. Wyle personnel have performed these tests on a wide range of Navy and Marine Corps aircraft including the E-6B, F/A-18A/B/C/D/E/F, VH-60, VH 3, and MV-22B.
