3.13 Ship Inactivation and Disposal Support (Detail)

As a subcontractor under contract N00421-01-D-0239, Wyle is supporting the down sizing of the Navy’s P-3C fleet of aircraft, including providing support to NAVAIR and NAVICP in the selection of aircraft for deactivation. A primary focus of this effort is to identify aircraft for disposal, as well as aircraft to be deactivated and retained for potential reactivation for foreign sales. Within this framework, and consistent with the requirements of DOD 4160.21, Wyle has provided detailed recommendations and supporting justification on which avionics systems (e.g., ESM, ICS, Radar, etc.) and weapons should be removed/salvaged from the aircraft selected for deactivation.
