3.2 Engineering, System Engineering, and Process Engineering Support

Wyle has been providing engineering solutions to DoD activities utilizing system engineering and process engineering methodologies for more than 50 years.  Efforts have ranged from requirements analyses, evaluation of new/emerging technologies for possible upgrades to existing systems and analysis of alternative approaches; through development of system requirements and specifications; to evaluation of design approaches and system architectures, evaluation of integration requirements, and investigation of technical risk and safety issues.  Wyle has been a primary participant in the various modification programs designed to provide Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) for the E-2C, including development of specifications for the mission computer upgrade and for CEC integration into the E-2C aircraft, and inputs for a number of procurement packages for CEC-related hardware and software. Wyle also provided inputs to the CEC/E-2C TEMP, and developed the detailed test plans for CEC/E-2C integration. In support of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program, Wyle investigated issues related to the Internal Aircraft Gun. The result of this investigation indicated that small ground targets could be successfully engaged from ranges outside of 10,000 ft., and was the basis for the internal 25mm gun requirement.
